FAQ's

Frequently asked questions - if you cannot find the answer to your question please email us at info@thelittletrainingsalon.co.uk

Where are the courses held?

Our training venue is By Kaylee Beauty Boutique. The address is 20 Yorkshire Street, Bacup, Lancashire, OL13 9AE. You can find a map here.

Bacup is a small town in the North West of England, close to Burnley, Todmorden and Rawtenstall.

Alternatively, training can be carried out at your own salon (see below).

Can you train me at my own salon?

Yes, I can train you and your team at your salon! Travel costs will be added on to the total cost of the course. You may be required to carry out treatments on each other, and/or find your own models for the practical part of the training. You must also have appropriate treatment facilities available for the duration of the training.

Are the courses accredited?

Most of our courses are accredited by the Guild of Professional Beauty Therapists and taught to National Occupational Standards. Guild Training International (GTi) qualifications are accepted for insurance and membership.

The course description will state whether it is an accredited course or not! Some of our courses are add-ons, skill building, mentoring or masterclasses - these are not usually accredited and the description will clarify this. You should have prior qualifications in the subject, or be learning for personal purposes only. You will not be able to acquire insurance with non-accredited courses.

I don't have any beauty qualifications, can I do an accredited course?

Yes! Our courses are for complete beginners or for trained therapists wanting to update or add to their skills.

What is the minimum age to enrol on a course?

You can enrol on any course including an accredited GTi course from the age of 18.

Do you offer one-to-one training or mentoring?

Yes, we do! If you prefer to learn one-to-one or you would like private mentoring in a treatment please contact us or email us at info@thelittletrainingsalon.co.uk to ask about your options.

Can I get insured after completing one of your courses?

Yes, you will be able to obtain insurance from any reputable insurance provider after completing any of our in-person accredited short courses.

Will I need to bring a model?

For some of our courses you may need to bring a model with you to work on. We may be able to help find models for some courses if required but this is not guaranteed.

For some courses you will be working with another learner, and you will be required to work on each other.

Each individual course description will specify whether a model is required.

How will I be assessed? Is there an Exam?

Before you attend for the practical training you will complete the course theory online. The course theory has test questions as you work through the modules.

On the practical day of training you will be assessed by observation and questioning throughout the day. There may also be 'case studies' to complete after the course, where photograph evidence will be required to show that you can carry out the treatments to the required standard.

There is no exam and very minimal written work required to pass our courses.

What happens if I don't pass the training course?

If you do not reach the required standard to pass your training course then additional practical training may have to be arranged, for which you will need to pay.

Where do I find my GTi training course certificate?

Once you have been passed by the GTi school for a course, your certificate will be available in your user account area on the Beauty Guild website for you to download as a PDF. You can also purchase a copy of your certificate if you choose.

What shall I wear to my training course?

There is no specific dress code for our courses, but we ask that you do please wear work-appropriate clean clothes and closed-toe shoes.

Your clothes and shoes should be comfortable for standing and sitting for long periods of time. Please be mindful of loose fabric or tassels, and keep jewellery minimal (i.e. no long dangling necklaces or costume jewellery).

Be mindful that you will be working in close proximity to other learners and clients so you should have good hygiene and avoid using overpowering fragrances if possible.
